after 7 years online and more than 100,000 visits to its home page, "Peanuts are Cool!" has been closed on January 29th 2003, by demand of the lawyers representing the interests of United Feature Syndicate, Inc. here in Brazil.

I was unsure whether to keep the site online since I hadn't updated it for over one year now, so those guys helped me making up my mind! :) Nevertheless, it's kinda sad that all the stuff that I had collected and made available to other fans all over these years had to just vanish this way, without warning.

But it was a fun trip while it lasted. I was able to know some people around the world and received many messages from people saying how Peanuts influenced their childhood and how the site has helped bringing back good memories.

Hopefully, there will always be other Peanuts fansites and the official site seems to be improving on free content offered to fans as well, so I guess we did our part on the process.

após 7 anos online e mais de 100.000 visitas à sua página principal, o "Peanuts are Cool!" foi fechado em 29 de janeiro de 2003, por ordem dos advogados que representam a United Feature Syndicate, Inc. no Brasil.

Eu estava em dúvida se mantinha o site no ar, já que não o atualizava há mais de um ano, então esse pessoal me ajudou a tomar uma decisão! :) Ainda assim, é meio triste que todo o material que eu colecionei e tornei disponível para outros fãs durante esses anos tenha tido que sumir assim sem aviso.

Mas foi legal enquanto durou. Eu pude conhecer gente de todo o mundo e recebi muitas mensagens de pessoas contando como os Peanuts influenciaram sua infância e como o site ajudou a trazer de volta boas lembranças.

Com sorte, sempre haverá outros sites de fãs dos Peanuts e o site oficial parece estar melhorando em conteúdo gratuito oferecido aos fãs, então acho que fizemos a nossa parte neste processo.
